How to check VPN connection ?

Hi

We have  VPN connection , now my questions is when shop is connected and the
static ip address is showed in HQ Server. In some time, I want to check if
the connection still active or not though it will some how be shown in HQ
Server. Is there away to check active connection other than HQ Server?

The main questions is "how to know if that shop is still connected ? because
HQ server when hang it will not update or refresh the screen of the shops
that are currently connected ?

Well, your VPN software or device should have some sort of viewer that
displays tunnel status.  You could also try to PING the server's
internal IP address from the client (open a command window -
Start/Run/"cmd" and enter "Ping 192.168.1.xxx" at the prompt).  Finally,
you could go to File/Configuration in HQ Client and try the test
connection button on the HQ Server tab - but that won't respond if the
HQ Server is stopped or otherwise not responding.
