please help; lost credit card transactions

my register went offline yesterday because of a networking problem, at the end of the day I tried to run an x report but the computer said that I was not able to do this on an offline database. I closed the pos program and reopend it online. I understand that at this time is when it should have said that the databases where going to synchronize but it did not say that it opened as it normally would and showed a total sales of what we had sold prior to going offline. I have the receipts for the sales that we did and the cash recipts are not a problem, the problem is all of the credit card transactions that we did for the day apparently are lost from the database.

I tried swiching from my online database to my offline database to see if the transactions would show but they did not.

I made the system go offline, ran a couple transactions put the system back online and the screen to synchronise did show up this time I don't know what happened.

I also went to store ops manager/ journal/ update batch info to update the blind closeouts but it is only showing the two times that I went offline and back online with my test transactions, the one I am looking for is not there.

I also pulled up a few of the customers that we sold to yesterday to see if the missing transactions would show on their history but no history is showing for yesterdays transaction, after going offline.

I sent an email to microsoft and ultimatley the tech responded by saying this " 7/27/2005 8:42:00 AM EDT -- Christian Sureta Hi Victor,

Thank you for your response. All the transactions that are missing should be in the [Transaction] table of the offline database. When the system would go to offline mode, a new batch would be created for the offline transactions so the transaction are possibly in the same batch. I would suggest that we check the [Transaction] table from the offline database:

  1. Launch Store Operations Administrator and connect to the OFFLINE database.
  2. Run the following query:

select * from [Transaction]

There is a TransactionNumber column we can use to see if the transactions are there. The unfortunate thing is that once the transactions are gone from this table of the offline database it is not possible to recover them.

I cant believe that there is no other way of finding my lost credit card transactions. Please help

Victor, Have you tried setting your offline database as your primary database and connecting with the Manager? This might allow you to settle the credit card batch within the manager application on the offline database.

I believe the problem might be that the syncronization betweent he online and offline database does not syncronize the visanetauthorization table. This is the table that holds all the credit card authorizations.
