Can't get the invoice to copy ;(

Have Quicken 2010 for Home and Business (yes I know it is old). I need to duplicate invoices...but when I click "Copy Transactions", then open a new invoice and click "Paste Transations", it won't work. What am I doing wrong? In addition, I accidentally clicked "Cut" instead of "Copy", and the invoice is gone. Ugh.

Quicken (including Q2010) has no problem copying invoices - but your approach won't work. You don't (can't) paste one transaction into another. [I can't figure out how you could click "Paste transaction(s)" with an existing invoice "open".]

_ Right-click the invoice to be copied. _ Select "Copy transaction(s). _ Right-click in the invoice account register where you want the invoice pasted. _ Select "Paste transaction(s)". You can probably modify the pasted transaction, then Save it; if not, Save it first, then modify it.

If you selected "Cut" instead of "Copy", you could have just Pasted the Cut transaction back into the register and started over with a "Copy".

Once the Cut transaction is gone from the clipboard; you'll need to re-enter it manually, or revert to a backup.

I have tried multiple times to follow your instructions, however after I right click and select "Copy Transactions" , I then try to look for the invoice register you are referring to. Is it under "Account Actions" or "Business Actions"? I can't seem to find it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

  1. Click on the "Business" Tab
  2. You will see you transaction - sort them any way or you want or not at all.
  3. Right click on the transaction you want to copy
  4. Scroll to very bottom to the last line. It should be blank.
  5. Right click, then right click "Paste Transations"
  6. Then edit and modify the new invoice as needed
