QD changes from 2013 to 2016

I am using Quicken Deluxe 2013, and need to update soon to 2016 due to the online sunsetting.

Is there a summary of any features that may have been REMOVED between

2013 and 2016 for this version?

Also, is the $30 download from Amazon any different than the $65 copy direct from Quicken?

There is no difference if you buy it from either Amazon or Quicken.

The download file or CD is or should be version R1 or R2 and then as part of the installation it update to R4.

You save money by getting it from Amazon.

As for what's new see (add to Quicken)

I do not think there is complete list. It is not like years ago when they would show a side by side changes for the previous 3 years. You can also ask questions at Quicken Live Community

Hope this helps.

I don't recall any features ever being removed. There would have been just as much an uproar as there was when Intuit pulled some schedules and forms mode from TurboTax last year.

No.

No. To my knowledge, there has never been any such list - only a list of new features.

I should have bought it last week. The price on Amazon has jumped 50%, from $30 to $45.

A word of advise. If you have your Q13 program and/or Pin Vault password protected remove the password(s) before updating.

Q2016 will NOT carry the passwords forward and you won't be able to get into the program. I learned this the hard way.

Just went thru upgrading from Q2013 Premier to Q2016 Premier. One word of advise is if your data file and/or password vault files are password protected - remove the passwords BEFORE upgrading. Q2016 does NOT carry the passwords forward.

Have noticed a lot of changes but not any significant deletions of options - if anything there are a lot more.

I downloaded directly from Intuit since they offer a 60 return if you are not satisfied with the upgrade. To me, that was worth a few dollars more.

I updated mine last week, and it is password protected. No problems with access.

I have noticed the display is VERY sluggish. It can take a few seconds to simply resize the window.

It's not necessary to purchase from Intuit in order to take advantage of the

60 day no-questions-asked return policy.

I couldn't agree more. I installed Q2016 and had to enter the PW, the same as for 2013, but it was rejected along with others I have recorded through the years. I spent at least 5 hours getting through. Their password handling is abominable. the final solution was to create an entirely new password after I finally was able to answer the question "best friend through childhood". I didn't remember furnishing that. I did keep track of "1st employer" but they didn't ask that. Incidentally I have no idea how you would remove password as described above from the vault. But it's hard to imagine that they would not insist on a password if you did that.

Not my experience at all. I upgraded from QD 2014 to 2016 and had no problems with passwords at all.

Going from Q2013 to Q2016, you're going to encounter the Intuit ID and Pwd for the 1st time. A lot of people stumble over that.

And, the converter has problems with File Passwords ... so remove those before you install the upgrade. Also, Validate your Q data file (in Q2013), so that you're presenting the cleanest file possible to the converter.
