Make your own spreadsheet. That's the best advice I can give you.

No matter how much you dislike Intuit, its products' sunsets and its eternal fiddling with the gui, Quicken is a mature product and Intuit would be crazy to have people buy it for between $20 and $40 or so dollars and have it fully functional forever. Look at it as subscription software.

Thanks for bringing up a thread that's been done to death here over and over. Normal courtesy would be to search the group to see if the question has been asked and answered previously and it has, over and over again.

Short answer: There is NO acceptable alternative, learn to love Quicken.

At the price, Q can't be beat. Check out what software like Simply Accounting or Profile cost.

Thanks Bob, another fine contribution to the group :-)

And, if they did make it fully functional forever, they would probably be forced to discontinue the product sooner rather than later. That's not what I want at all. I've been using it since the DOS versions of the late 1980s. Upgrading it once every 3 years, at minimum, is well worth it, considering what I get out of the program.

I agree. For the cost, it is a very functional program.

Yeah, listen to this guy. If there was no alternative 6 months ago, obviously there will NEVER be an alternative. Don't ever ask any question that was ever answered, because nothing ever changes. I'll get back to doing my taxes now, using Dollars and $ense....

That might be the stupidest reply ever made here and it's earned you a spot in my bozo bin. Maybe some day you'll learn netiquette?

Things DO change but the matter was discussed just about 30 ago, the answer hasn't changed.

I agree with the stupid reply guy and I would be honored to accompany him to your bozo bin.

Although I appreciate your positive contributions, I still think you are a bossy jerk who needs to learn some *etiquette*.

I hope your bozo bin is the people you block - that means you won't see this. Netiquette? From you? You flamed that poor guy with your supercilious "Newbies suck" attitude of yours.

Oh, and don't hold your breath until "someday", kid. I've been here for

25 years - long before there was a Web.

Like my Grandma used to say "Scuse me for livin" Sorry to disturb your pristine life. You had the choice to NOT respond. I suggest exercising it in the future.

No, I'll ALWAYS respond to lazy a$$holes who are too damn lazy to search a group before jumping in with a question,

I will NOT allow people to be that damn rude or ignorant of proper netiquette. I don't let folks get away with crapping on my dining room table, either. Both are about equally rude.

Speaking of rude, people inconsiderate enough to top post get into my bozo bin as well. Bye!

"I don't let folks get away with crapping on my dining room table, either."

In my home, the thought never crossed anyone's mind.

I guess that says something about you and the company you keep.

Uncal Bob either."

No, it says something (actually, it says a lot!) about some of the posters in this newsgroup...
