TurboTax: $25 rebate if you need Premier for 2014

If you were able to use Deluxe last year, but had to use Premier to do your 2014 return, they're giving a $25 rebate.

You apparently can't ask for it 'til you've filed your 2014 return.

I've saved myself more than that and I have it in hand NOW by switching to H&R Block. And I like it better.

I'm done with Turbotax andtheir stupid band-aid fixes and apologies. Do it right the first time by not trying to milk your long-time users for a few more bucks.

Very nice for you, but some folks were caught by surprise, bought Deluxe and found that they needed Premier to finish their taxes.

IIUC that offer is only if you efiled in 2013 and will in 2014, because if you file paper you can still use forms method to fill out and print C,D,E, and F (but I guess you don't get interview method, and I'm not sure you can import from Quicken either).

Same here. Standard Operation Procedure for Intuit. Do something stupid, beg forgiveness and then hope they all come back. Sorry Intuit. I may look at what you offer next year, but you'll have to come up with a good reason then for me to switch back.

Almost did that myself, but have learned to do some research before pulling the trigger and spending hard earned cash. It's not like if I don't buy this very minute, I'll never get the chance again, and always STAY AWAY from the bleeding edge. Let someone else debug it if they are in that big of a rush.

I've been using the TTax BASIC version forever, and have e-filed ALL my required schedules - A, B, D, E - Now this year - I have to jump --> from Basic --> Deluxe --> Premier --> to get A, B, D, E

I haven't yet bought TTax for this year - looking over other options. BUt it's not clear to me if Intuit is going to give a free upgrade for those wh o buy it in the next few weeks It would really be stupid to make you buy t he premier and then you have to file for a refund.

But for folks like me who were paying attention and knew they'd need Premier to get their returns done, and for whatever reason decided to stay with TurboTax and have already bought Premier, we have no choice but to go through more handsprings in order to get the rebate.

I had already ordered Premier from Costco when someone from Intuit contacte d me by email, probably as a result of my comments on Amazaon, and has prom ised me a complete refund of my software. I sure hope this doesn't come ba ck in the form of just the $25 rebate
