used 2009 form on 2010 1040X - need to re-amend?

I was completing a 1040X for tax years 2009 and 2010. Somehow I used a

2009 Schedule C (with 2010 figures) for the 2010 1040X. I did not notice this until after I mailed the forms about two weeks ago.

Is it necessary for me to file another 1040X for 2010 using the right year's form? If so, how long should I wait for the 1040X I mailed to be processed?

Thank you very much.

a) Did you enter the right year on each 1040X?

b) Did you mail the 1040x's in separate envelopes?

If yes then I don't think there's any problem. IRS may contact you to ask what's going on.

If you sent both years in the same envelope, sit tight. See what happens. It might take many months to get IRS to process 1040Xs.
