Do credit card transactions have a time-stamp?

Reason I ask is, while out shopping today, I accidentally dropped my credit card and it slipped down a drain. Couldn't reach it and the drain cover was firmly held closed with crud around the edges. In full view of everyone who cares to look, the name, number and expiry are clearly visible, but out of reach unless someone pries the drain open. So I reported it lost and the company blocked it, but I had used the card three times today, prior to it's loss. I don't want to have these transactions cancelled also as I already have the goods. Not a large amount, but money nonetheless. Any advice?

This might depend upon how the three merchants handled the transaction. Call you card company and see what has come through on the account.

They will write to you in a few days time with a list of recent transactions on your account and ask you to confirm that they are valid.

OK, that makes sense to me. Reminds me of the time when my mate was pickpocketed in Reading and reported his card stolen. However, he didn't notice it was gone until sometime after the event and was going through his statement with the police to determine which were genuine transactions and which weren't. We were all had a good laugh afterwards when the sex shop transactions that the police thought were fraudulent actually turned out to be genuine.

I lost my credit card and I was still using it online before I realised I lost it. So, the time/date that I told my bank I lost the card would have been before the transactions. My bank just sent me a letter with the transactions, saying to phone if I disputed any of them, which I didn't so they eventually got transferred to my new card.

Really? Mine have never done so, and I have lost credit cards two or three times over the past 2 or 3 years from at least 2 companies, probably 3. Plus, when one cc co called me to enquire, and then cancel my card after

*they* detected a fraudulent transaction for 800, they didnt notice the other fraudulent one for 600 from exactly the same source, that was made just an hour before. I only became aware of it when they sent me my bill a few weeks later.
