How were they sent? Did the branch treat the transaction as a Wednesday or Thursday one - some branches might have a later cut-off.
Online via Internet banking
My expectation would be:-
1 - leaves your account immediately. 2 - treated as a Thursday transaction. 3 - arrives HSBC on Monday.
I guess 1 is right but 2 will be today and 3 will be Friday.
Why so quickly? I'm always told by banks it takes "3 days" and then they explain something that means two days to anyone else!
If it left on Wednesday after the cut off isn't this right:
Day 1 - Thursday Day 2 - Friday Day 3 - Monday
Hopefully the OP can come back tomorrow (or Monday) and confirm what actually happened for the record?
Sure, no problem...
Just hope the seller on ebay tells me when is in his account!

Yes but this was by internet banking so there is a very reasonable chance it was before the cut off.
What time is the cutoff point?

Varies from bank to bank. Over the counter transactions to other banks have 15:30, but internet transactions seem to vary from 15:30 to 18:00 in some cases to much later in a few others. I reckon yours will likekly be 18:00 but lets wait and see.
Good, a client paid a largish invoice around 5pm on Wednesday by internet banking so it may be in my account Friday!

I hope it does too! ................
(Note I only said 'very reasonable chance') :-)
I like to raise my hopes. I'm a half full bank account person rather than half empty!
It's in the account today!
