Remove 1p and 2p coins?

Because you just said "what point was that" in reply to me saying "the link doesn't make your point at all".

I didn't know what you thought my point was. How does that mean I haven't got one?

You said "what point was that", which tends to mean "there isn't one", like: Mr Smith: "Look at that cow!" Mr Jones: (Looking at a giraffe) "What cow is that then?"

Nope. You look it up.

I've not noticed any great upswelling of resentment against small change. Perhaps you can give a reliable reference?

What, more room in the till?

No, because I believe it to be copper. If you want to change my mind, then provide the link.

People trying to get rid of it when paying for things.

Do you really think shops want 50 billion different coins?

What's the point in keeping them when nothing is worth that piddly small amount? Why do you think we removed the 1/2p coin? Why don't you think it's therefore (with inflation) time to remove the next one?

To you, perhaps. To me it just looks as if you're failing to answer a simple question.

Yes, look at Woolworths.

What has renaming and naming your shop after an amount of money got to do with Woolworths?

Why would you ask me what your own point was? Are you suffering from a lack of memory recall?

I wanted to know what you *thought* my point was. Is that so difficult?

Reply to

Then you should have written "What do you think my point was?"

What do you think my point was?

I have no idea, hence the "please explain".

1p and 2p coins are copper plated and consist of about 94% mild steel and 6%copper.

That's not a reliable reference.

When paying for things with money, people try to get rid of notes and all sorts of other coins too.

There are currently 8. Don't exaggerate.

So that we can have 99p shops of course.

Because it wasn't sensible to have a fractional coin in a decimal age of course.

Inflation is at zero. Or hadn't you heard?

removed 0.5p coins ages ago.

So the next time I buy three bottles of wine at Tesco @ £x.99 each, how d o I get my 3p in change to put in the charity box on the way out?

Please try and put some thought into your posts.
