I've googled, but not with much success, to find the current status of the Coverdell Education Savings Account, the account formerly known as Education IRA.
I understand the limit for deposit has been extended, remain at $2000 for 2012, and that maybe the tax free withdrawal was extended.
Unfortunately neither comes from a source I'd consider authoritative. I'll like a clean reference to an IRS statement.
(The thing I liked about this account is the choices are the same as any brokerage account, individual stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, etc. The 529 options are limited, and in my case the S&P index carries a .25% expense. The extra .15% won't kill me, but better in my pocket.)
