Fannie & Freddie

Does the takeover/bailout affect GNMA funds? If so, how? I don't own any such funds, by my mother's income, while she lived, was dependent on a GNMA fund, so I am curious.

states "The only mortgage-backed security that enjoys the full faith and credit of the United States Government. So it appears GNMA is already a full government entity where Freddie and Fannie were more like the Post Office, sort of. i.e. a separate entity.
