Tax Codes as line item options for Sales/Invoice / Purchase/Receive Inventory data entry?

I've reviewed another accounting software package, and noted that it had the equivalent of Peachtree's "Sales Taxes" features available for data entry selection per each line in the equivalent Sales/Invoice / Purchase/Receive source document as an alternative choice from the assigned customer 'global' default.

This feature facilitates the processing each Sales/Invoice / Purchase/Receive document multiple line items that have different applicable sales tax implications, both for selling (collecting) and purchasing (recovering or expensing) of various "value added taxes" due various and multiple sales tax authorities.

If this feature were available in Peachtree, I would see it in addition to or replacing the "Tax" column now that is shown in the Sales/Invoice window, and being added to the Purchase/Receive window.

This feature if available would be most helpful for Peachtree users in Canada.

Would Tax Codes as line item options be a useful feature to Peachtree users in any or all the 50 States of the United States?
