Porter's point is well taken (and welcome to see Porter back after umpteen years - if it's the same Porter), but methinks, Andrew, that bundles are promoted by the publisher. Just my 5 cents. Yes, it was 2 cents for ages, but inflation

a.k.a. low contrast, lightweight font typefaces. :(
It's the new trend, there seems to be a rush to the lowest contrast possible....
Fine, if one has the eyes of an eagle. Who'd thunk it?
So, is it possible to change that to a higher contrast? If so, how?

You can change the register font to anything you like: typeface, weight, size, etc. are all selectable. All the other text (menus, sidebars, toolbars, ...) are fixed.
Thanks so much for the update! I'm getting closer to making the decision to proceed with it. I normally keep up-to-date on Quicken - but was concerned about some negative comments I was seeing on 2017.
Thanks again.

Except you can't change the fonts in investment account registers. I've never understood why.

I can't give you the technical details, but you need to start with the fact that Quicken investment accounts have not had "registers" for a long time.
I also can't tell you why the change occurred, but probably a decade or more ago, Quicken investment accounts were changed to have "transaction lists" in place of the "registers" they used to have. It was not an accident.
You should also have noticed there are other differences between "registers" and " transaction lists". For example, you can not select multiple investment account transactions in an investment account "transaction list" ... while you can select multiple non-investment account transactions in a non-investment account "register".

Another big difference (and I wish it were there) is that you can't attach a flag or note to the investment lists. That would be of real help to provide additional context to particular transactions. Sigh.

They can call it whatever they want, but it's text displayed on a screen that I can edit. Why can't I change the font?
Although I agree with you that you should be able to, none of can answer your question as to why. It was Intuit's choice, not that of any of us here.
Actually, it was Quicken, Inc's choice. Intuit spun off Quicken about 6-7 months ago.

The problem/feature existed long before Intuit sold off Quicken.
