Share data file for Quicken Mac and Windows?

Hi All,

I have Quicken Deluxe 2020 for PC. Have the data file shared on a network share (LAN) at my house. Just got a macbook. Want to be able to use Quicken Mac and load the data file on the Mac. Is that possible? When I launch Quicken on the Mac, it wants to load a Mac quicken file. Sounds like there isn't a way to basically load the same quicken data file on both the Mac and the Pc is there?

Thanks :)

Correct.

There is no way to share the same file between Quicken for Windows and Quicken for the Mac.

Sorry, I don't think there is any way around it: the two file formats are not compatible.

I suggest using a remote desktop client.

At that point, I have Fusion on my Mac, and I'd just assume install the PC version and run it in unity ...

But - I installed the Mac version, both are signed into my Quicken cloud acccount . So on the PC, I enter transactions, sync it to the cloud.

Then on the Mac, sync to the cloud. Shouldn't the Mac pull those transactions ?

I don't think so. See

Also, the "cloud" does not contain all your Quicken data, so even if Windows and Mac versions could access the same cloud data, you would not be sharing your Quicken "data file" ... just a subset of that file.

Here are a couple of other Community discussions that may be of some interest.

No. The Mac and PC are distinct data sets and we can not use the Quicken Cloud to keep other data files synchronized.

If you use Fusion, you'll need to move you're data file between the PC and the Mac. I find it much simpler to access the PC desktop from the Mac (and other devices).
