Alternative to IT'S DEDUCTIBLE (2023 Update)

I use Turbo Tax every year and its companion product It's Deductible. It meets my needs perfectly, so I have no concern here.

However, my mom needs are different. She sometimes hits the AMT and sometimes not. This is one of those years where she will not hit AMT and she his making substantial clothing, etc. donations. She doesn't like It's Deductible and she would like something that she can track her donations with, plus know the fair market value of the items she is donating. Does such a program exist, or is there even a document that would detail what 2009 's fair market value for donated items published somewhere?

Thanks!

Yes, there are alternative programs to It's Deductible that can help track donations and determine fair market values of items. One popular alternative is he online database of the Salvation Army, which provides fair market value for a wide range of items. There are also several other programs and apps that can help track donations and provide fair market values for items, such as Charity Navigator, GiveWell, and GiveBackBox.

It's important to keep in mind that when it comes to determining the fair market value of donated items, the IRS has specific guidelines. The fair market value is generally defined as the price at which an item would sell in the open market. The IRS also provides a publication called "IRS Publication 561: Determining the Value of Donated Property", which contains detailed information on determining fair market value for donated items. It's always a good idea to consult a tax professional to make sure you are accurately determining the fair market value of your donations and reporting them correctly on your tax return Here are the links to the resources I mentioned

Wait, are her *needs* truly different from yours, or just her personal preferences? It makes a difference when trying to answer your question. What doesn't she like about It's Deductible? It goes above and beyond anything you are going to get from the IRS publications.

It's Deductible does that.

It's no surprise that H&R Block provides a competitive product to Intuit's, called DeductionPro. You can find more about it at the Block website, but I suspect it matches It's Deductible feature-for-feature, although the user interface might be different.

For no cost, there is a very limited listing of values at

but with no tracking features. I suspect similar organizations might have similar lists.
