Donation of Real Property

Client wants to donate piece of real property to a church, and thechurch sell it to a new buyer (purchase price is $11,500). Do wehave to do a deed to charity and then have charity sell; or can wehave some sort of documentation from Church accepting the gift butdirecting us to convey property to ultimate buyer? Seems silly to haveto do 2 step process, but if we have to do so we certainly will.thanks.

maybe you should make the Church pay for the appraisal, and just give you a copy.

Remember the back of your Form 8283 has to be signed by the qualified appraiser. Do you really want the recipient of your gift paying to help fill out your tax return? That seems to me to be "return value" at best, and "dead fish smell" at worst.
