Guess who got a nastygram today

Well, it's been a long time since the IRS has seen fit to look at my tax returns, but now it's 2007 - mostly itemized deductions. The envelope they provide to send them the info is way too small - it'll probably take a USPS box to put it all in. Of course, they wouldn't know (unless they look at the "occupation" line) that it's all going to tie. It's just that the timing is awkward, to say the least.

I like that they have the ability to strictly limit your response time, yet it'll be three or four moths before they finally respond back, after you receiving several "We (the IRS) need more time to look into your correspondence" type letter. The last issue we worked started May of 08 on an 07 information return, and we just resolved it in satisfaction of the taxpayer last week.

Ain't paperwork grand?
