Entered US with H1B visa on 3/3/2007 with wife and two children (H4 visas). Reading IRS Pub 519, it seems residency test is met (more than 183 days). Is 1040 sufficient or is there a reason / requirment to file the "dual-status" return? I am interested in getting ITINs for wife and children as part of the tax return.
