incarcerated

Dad wants to file son's return who is in jail. IRS sez use jail's address and inmate number for refunds and correspondence. Most likely it means a paper file, how is 1040 filled out?

Also, am I reading this correct he is eligible for stimulus checks, is this right?

He is eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit on his 2020 tax return if he did not already receive the stimulus payments.

"Q B10. Incarcerated Individuals: Can I claim the credit if I was incarcerated in 2020?

A10. Yes, individuals will not be denied the Recovery Rebate Credit solely because they are incarcerated."
