I'm a resident of Fl.(NO state tax)......No. Carolina withheld $4k from a tax shelter I owned which closed out in '06.....How can/can I, recover any or all of this???

If the tax shelter involved real or tangible personal property located in NC, the gain is subject to NC tax. In any case, you need to file a nonresident NC income tax return to either report the income or claim a refund of the tax withheld. Katie in San Diego
