Question about SLCSP

I am trying to do a dry run on my taxes for 2015 so I can determine if I need to make any year-end adjustments to my income. I am running into problems in determining the SLCSP (second lowest cost silver plan) for our health care plan. My wife and I are retired, both age 64, not yet on Medicare - and we buy our insurance through healthcare.gov. Our projected AGI is around $35K and out MAGI is about $45K.

In order to calculate the taxes properly, I need to know what the SLCSP is that will be used for the 2015 tax year. Healthcare.gov has a nice calculator on their site that lets you calculate the number for tax year

2014, but that just gives me the number used on last year's return. I won't get an official number for 2015 until they send me the annual 1095-A form in January or February of 2016. I can go on healthcare.gov today and browse all the plans for the 2016 signups and literally find the second lowest plan, but I'm not sure if that's the right number to use for 2015 tax returns or if that would be used on 2016 returns.

Can anyone help me unscramble how to calculate an accurate SLCSP for tax year 2015?

If I were you, I would go to healthcare.gov and go to the "Special Enrollment Periods: Enroll or change 2015 insurance plans" section, scroll down to "Before you apply: See 2015 plans and price estimates based on your income" and then follow directions for your zip code, age, and number of family members to see all the 2015 plans available to you. Save a copy for your records because this information may only remain available for a few days, and then look at the "Premium before tax credit" of all the 2015 Silver plans and find the SLCSP.
