Too many coins?

Well I never knew that, you can refuse too many coins as settlement of a debt. Who in their right mind would, I don't know.

I learned of that many, many years ago while still in school (before you were even born) - along with many other useful things!

Perhaps you should have gone to school too?

I learnt much more useful stuff than what you did.

if I offered you a million penny coins in settlement of a 10,000 bill, how the heck would you carry them away?

Three and a half tonnes is nothing to Uncle Peter, he would carry that in one hand.

No, the *court* can refuse to accept too many coins. 'Legal Tender' has a very limited and narrow definition.

The same way as you delivered them to me.

I wouldn't fancy having to count it, and I certainly doubt you'd physically be able to move it in just three car loads.

I can't believe you said that. I believe I now say the word "whoosh" and get a free beer.

I distinctly remember my teachers telling me not to be smart. That's what I thought school was for?!?

I remeber years ago Blue Peter (I think) showed a pile of rice which they claimed contained approximately 1,000,000 grains. That alone would have pretty much filled a car. I suspect a million pennies would create rather a bigger pile.

If you did, it would be heavily overloaded. The payload of my large estate car is 595kgs, which includes the driver. A small car based van I used to own had a payload of 310kgs.

You only learned the "useful stuff" that is likely to put you in the 'dock' or behind bars for a while - or is it probable that's where you did learn it? ;-)

But I suppose that is the fate of all gobby idiots who have a vacant space between their ears.
