Do banks still certify checks? Does any recipient care (vs. money order, teller check, etc.)?
I recently tried to get a check certified at Chase (formerly WaMu). The teller first told me that a bank check _is_ a certified check. She had to be corrected by another teller, who said that Chase no longer certifies checks.
I was stuck getting bank checks, and in February, Chase started charging former WaMu customers for them.
