Just noticed the presence of new files in my Quicken data folder. They are: 'filename'FXLOG.DAT and 'filename'FXOLD.DAT
What are these files? Can I delete them?

Based on the name, I would guess they contain information downloaded from financial instutions directly into Quicken. That communications protocol is called OFX. You can almost certainly delete these files, but they will also probably be recreated each time you download.
