Household Inventory Export

Quicken 2005 Premier has a Household Inventory database that I've used extensively. I'm concerned that Intuit may see fit to delete this feature in the future and would like to move my data to another database, in this case Access 2000.

Unfortunately, Intuit did not provide a way to export this data. Is there another program that will read the Quicken file Household.IDB into Access or Excel? I'd even be happy with an export to a CSV or Text file. Thanks in advance for any help on this subject.

Other than printing inventory reports to a disk file, I don't think there is any way to export Quicken inventory data and I know of no other program that can read Quicken's .idb files.

But I don't think you should have any worries about Intuit deleting the feature in the near future; Intuit has recently beta tested a new version of Home Inventory ... my guess is it could be available for Q2007.

Further, Home Inventory is a separate stand alone program, not part of qw.exe; I don't see how Intuit could keep you from using that home inventory program for as long as you like.

And even if Intuit were to discontinue all support for Home Inventory at some unknown time in the future, it's not likely that you could do much ahead of time to protect yourself; what you can do today, you can probably do tomorrow. If you like Home Inventory - the current, or new version - why not just use it until you can no longer do so?
