I asked a few months back about how/why a monthly loan payment to me didn't get automatically entered into the register one month. It just happened again and now I understand why. These payments are always tendered by personal check and I'm often busy and don't get around to depositing the checks right-off. I always credit the payment on the due date if I receive the payment in a timely way, regardless of when I get around to depositing.. EXCEPT.. if I miss a month. If the due-date for a loan comes by and the previous payment hasn't been "received" [by Quicken :o)] yet, it doesn't enter the new payment into the register.
This is OK except for installment loans, where it is a nuisance to figure out the right principal/interest amounts when I enter the transaction in by hand.
