2009 5500-EZ Employer vs. Employee contributions

Jul 08, 2010 1 Replies

Form 5500-EZ for 2009 wants a separate figure for "employer" and "employee" contributions.

Suppose the plan is a solo 401(k) whose single participant is a sole proprietor. The contribution includes both a profit-sharing amount and an elective deferral amount.

Are these number the "employer" and "employee" amounts respectively? Or is it all "employer" contributions?

Does anyone know definitively?

Thanks

The "profit sharing" amount is the employer portion. The "elective deferral" is the employee portion.
