Can both divorced parents cliam HoH? Say they had two kids. One kid lives with parent A more than 6 months of the year, other kid lives with parent B more than 6 months of the year. They each pay for the upkeep of their own home.
NO! "Their own home" => ONE residence and "two households under the same roof."
That's not what I inferred from the OP. It sounded like two separate residences, otherwise it would be the case that the kids lived with both parents the entire year.
I also assumed that divorced parents living together with their kids, all in the same household, is so uncommon that the OP would have specifically mentioned it.
