Can I finally write off GM/MTLQQ?

I was a GM stockholder. I rode it right down to the ground, from GM to GMGMQ to MTLQQ. Does the action described here:

mean that it is finally officially dead, so that I can declare it as a complete loss on my 2011 Schedule D?

Perhaps. The release at the link only states that the reorganization plan has been completed as of March 31, 2011. You need to look at the reorganization plan document to see if part of the plan was the cancellation of the previous GM shares. If so, then your answer is yes. If there was any distribution of property or ongoing equity interest in the new GM, then it wouldn't be a complete loss.
