Can I enroll in a HCFSA for $2500 with my employer and can my spouse do the same thing? But use the money for different qualified expenses? Not planning on double dipping, we just have more than $2500 in expenses.


You can max out at $2500 and she can max out at $2500. Effectively, you have a $5000 pool upon which to obtain tax-free benefits.

Also note that the IRS just released new "use it or lose it" rules that may or may not affect you in 2013 and 2014. It will depend upon whether your employer(s) have a grace period in their plan and whether they elect to use the new rule starting in 2013. For more info on this change, see:
