I had a social security check deposited by my bank on 12/31/2009. Normally it is deposited on the 4th of the month, ie. 1/04/2010. Essentially this means that I had 13 social security checks deposited in
2009. However, the SSA-1099 shows only 12 checks deposited. I assume the bank made a mistake by depositing the check on 12/31/2009 and they should have waited until 1/04/2010.
I would assume that I should show whatever is on the SSA-1099 for 2009 filing purposes. If not, what else can I do?
