When I start a cash sales receipt, paid with a check, the check does not show up in make deposits when I try to make a deposit slip. If I start with an invoice, and then go to receive payments and enter the check that way, it does show up.
What am I doing wrong? In QB 2000 it worked fine.
Thanks

It sounds like your preference to always use the Undeposited Funds account might not be selected.
When you open the Sales receipt screen do you see the "Deposit to" box at the bottom of the screen (left hand corner)? If you see this option then go to edit>>preferences>>Payments>>company preferences and check the "Use Undeposited Funds as a default deposit to account" option.
If that box is already checked, post back so that we can look further.

: When you enter a sales receipt, do you have a field in the bottom left corner that says "deposit to " ? If so, check where your sales receipt is getting deposited to. If it's depositing straight to the bank account, it will not show up in the pop up window. You should find it as a line in your check register.
If you want to deposit it to undeposited funds, you can change it on each sales receipt in the "deposit to" field, or you can go in your edit/ preferences/ payments/ company tab...check the box that says "use undeposited funds as a default deposit".
Hope this helps:)
