I filed my 2020 1040 in June (I am overseas, so I was still within the time limit). I had a refund coming, but it has not appeared in my bank. I know that they know my bank details, for I did receive the stimulus payment. How can I tell if my return was received and processed?
I tried to build an account using ID.me, but so far I have not been able to get it to accept my picture.

I know that people who amended their 2020 returns in April are just now (Jaunary, 2022) starting to see their refunds (from the amended return).
The pandemic relief has slowed things down mightily at the IRS, with the IRS unusually overwhelmed. Don't believe the timeframes the IRS is giving, except the ones saying, the refund will arrive after "more than ____ weeks."
