Do I need to include Form 1098 etc. for state tax filing?

Before Form 1098 etc. came with three copies, one for Federal, one for state, and for for keep. Now, there is only one copy. Do I still include them when filing federal & state tax?

Are you talking about Form 1098 for mortgage interest? It was never necessary to attach that to your tax return, and I don't think I've ever seen one with multiple copies.

I don't know what you mean by "etc."

Or did you mean 1099-series forms? You still have to attach Form 1099-R to your federal tax return if you file by mail, but only if the 1099-R has federal tax withheld. Those often have three copies. If there's only one copy, make a photocopy and attach the copy.

Every state has different rules about what has to be included with the state tax return.

My state requires that copies of information returns showing state income tax witholding be stapled to the state tax return. If no state witholding is shown, the state doesn't want a copy of that information return.

I have no idea what your state's revenuers require.
