ROTH contribution - do I need to file a form

Feb 07, 2009 2 Replies

I made a contribution to an existing ROTH. It was within the allowable limit for the year.

Do I have to file a form with my tax return for this contribution?

Only if you qualify for the Retirement Saver's Credit.

You always need to keep track of your Roth contributions in your own records because of the ordering rules for distributions.
