Fairmark tax/investor forum (slightly OT)

Mar 08, 2009 4 Replies

The Fairmark site is occasionally referenced here, I found myself just yesterday referencing an older article from there to help a tax client

-- it's very useful!

Yesterday (3/6) the site's owner Mr. Thomas posted a short top story ("one of his rare opinion pieces") about the President and the stock market, among other things. I think it's tongue in cheek (or at least strongly ironic or sarcastic), but could find no postings in the discussion boards there to this effect.

Am I missing his point? Or is it just a clever and maybe a touch too-subtle antidote to the mass media commentary I see or read all too frequently these days?

ps. I will probably get around to registering there (if it's free) and see if the site's own discussion boards don't provide an answer.

Knowing Kaye Thomas, he could very well be following a Harvard tradition. I believe they call it "lampooning" up there in Hahvad Yahd!

Okay, I'll retract my last post in response to Mark's OP. After reading's Kaye's editorial, it is SO apparent that he is writing with conviction and that he believes what he writes.

That's what it looks like to me; it is especially a reaction to the Journal article.

Steve

I think so. The last paragraph, in which he rakes Obama over the coals for not yet fixing health care, the long-term energy situation and putting a man on Mars , is a dead giveaway.
