IRS Tax help Again

I posted this in the fall of 2007 and had someone respond to my e-mail with a man in California that could help and I LOST IT!!!!! If you are out there please resend to snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com or snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com

I was hoping this group could help, I have been negoating with the IRS and have done an offer in comprise on my own and it was denied. I was thinking about going with the company JK Harris, any good or bad comments or can you recommend someone that I trust to do a good job and they know what they are talking about?

I have some knowledge after doing the offer in compromise.

STRESSED IN VA.

As to your search for someone in California to help - you should, IMO, find an OIC competent EA, CPA, or attorney near you in VA, not in CA. No disrespect intended toward California tax pros, but, in my experience from the other side of the collection desk, long distance representation is not often effective. And if the distant rep is of the "lien chasing" variety, many of the JK Harris issues apply.

to find an Enrolled AGent (EA) near you. Our web site has specialties listed, because not all EA's have this kind of experience.

Long distance representation can be very effective if the right firm is selected. JKH is not that firm.

If you live in Northern Virginia, I highly recommend Elizabeth Geiger, EA in Vienna, VA. She is a member of NAEA and very active in the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents.
