Situation: A basic Statement of Financial Condition which has Assets and Liabilities was done in November for the purpose of adopting a child from a foreign country. Due to the slowness of the bureaucracy in that country, the hopeful couple need to now file an updated one, along with a request to include their salaries. They both have fairly handome positions at a reputable local institution. They have given me copies of their w-2's for 2007, and also each got a letter from the institution as to current standing of wages and employment. Can the wages, which of course I always think of as an expense, be used as an "Asset"?
