Problem on filing extention

I will have to delay filing my taxes this year because I have to get a new computer and wait for my son to set everything up so I can load my turbo-tax(which this year requires a 64 bit computer and mine is 32:-(

Can I directly file an extension for both the Federal and the NYState income tax electronically without having to go through the Turbo Tax, which I can't install! If not will just have to finle by the old paper route, pulling the forms of the websites.

Wendy Baker ================================I went to the Turbotax site to look for its "requirements" page as it struck me odd that the world of 32-bit would just be abandoned! Anyway, right there on the home page was a button for filing an extension. Geo.

The 64-bit requirement applies to Macs. Windows 32-bit is still supported.
