advice on investing 200k for one year

Hi

We are planning to sell our house and rent for a year before buying again. We will have £200,000 in equity to invest for one year and I have been trying to find where we will get the best return. There seem to be a number of savings accounts that will give about 4% net with no risk, but I was wondering if there was a better option. I don't mind a bit of risk if it pays off. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

John

My two cents - put 30K in your name into premium bonds, 30K in your wife's name into premium bonds and split the remaining 140K between several high interest saving accounts putting no more than 30K into each account.

Personally, that is as much risk as I would take. Oh, put 3K each into a CASH mini-ISA.

Its the 'if it pays off' bit that worries me. What if it doesnt pay off?

Stay in cash @ 4% net.
