Conservative Investing?

I've heard the term "conservative investor/investing" several times, not knowing what this means. Does it apply to stocks, bonds, annuities, CDs, real estate? Or is it more investment strategy? Thanks in advance...young Yank

The meaning depends who is using the term.

I reckon it could be applied to someone who sticks to blue-chip FTSE companies, government bonds and building society accounts in preference to hi-tech stocks, recovery situations and traded options.

Conservative, with a small 'c', means avoiding extremes. So whatever you may consider to be the extremes of investing, a conservative investor will avoid.
