NPower Dual Fuel Discount

It is important to check your fuel bills regularly or expect to be ripped off. I checked my bill last week, and it was missing a GBP

100.00 discount for dual fuel. I complained, and my new bill is being prepared with my GBP 100.00 reduction.

If I did nothing, then I expect nothing would have happened, except I go on paying as before.

This is just another case of one law for business and another for individuals. If I walk out of a shop after forgetting to pay for GBP

100.00 of goods I expect police involvement.

I queried a final bill from EDF after changing to British gas for electricity supply. My query was why is there an estimated reading on a final bill. EDF said those were the figures sent by BG and I would have to take it up with them. I phoned BG and put it to them that they had not sent the correct readings to EDF, they twittered on about estimated readings, so I asked for a dispute to be raised, because I had sent several sets of readings in over the changover period. Within a week I had a letter from EDF and a cheque for 143.13.........so the moral is always check your fuel bills. If I had not queried the bill I am sure this abitrary reading that BG had set would have become my startup reading for the new account.

Presumably BG were going to bill you on the basis of the same "estimated" reading they had passed across to EDF.

So, unless I'm misunderstanding you, the "loss" to you is the difference between EDF's & BG's charges for the kWs by which the "actual" reading differed from the "estimate".

I reckon you'll need to give £142 of your £143 to BG when they bill you...!

Its part of their business model. Some chump that didn't check his bill is effectivly subsidising your energy cost. They get to the top of the price comparison sites and you get subsidised fuel.
