Self employed - tax man wants money in advance - is this right?

Where did he say he had a good year? He said he got most of the money after the end of the year.

No, I didn't say that at all. Instead I said it is unfair to have to pay income tax when you have not received income.

I have also addressed the issue of requesting to reduce payments on account and rather than typing it out again I refer you to my previous posts in this thread.

First - she not he.

Second. Why exactly[1] should I have to pay income tax on income not received out of last year's income? Do you, for example, pay tax six months in advance of getting a pay rise, on that pay rise? No? So why should I have to?

[1]apart from it being the law.

Again - read the thread.

Then, with respect, you do not seems to have made a very good job of it. :-)

What, in your opinion, have I ignored?

And before you say reducing payments on account, I have discussed this with others at length so that topic has hardly been "ignored".
