Hi,
Could someone tell me what questions one would expect when they seek the services of an accountant?
Also what information would they need from a potential client?

Prospective clients have all kinds of questions. While some have ranged into the surreal, most have to do with my understanding/experiences with other businesses like theirs.
What I like to see is copies of prior year returns for all the owner(s) of the business, prior year returns of the business if it is an existing corporation/partnership, a copy of their articles of incorporation/partnership agreement, and any existing books or records (just to know what they are doing and where things stand).
Generally the first meeting is more a questions and answers along with general conversation about their business and my services.
A second meeting is when I like to look at the details (and that is better suited at their business location if possible.
