Federal The lowest personal income tax rate has been revised to 15.5% effective July 1, 2006. The federal basic personal amount has been revised to $8,639 effective July 1, 2006. Effective July 1, 2006, the application includes the new Canada Employment Credit for all employees. The federal personal amounts for July 1, 2006 have been revised. For more detailed information on the revised personal amounts, see the federal Form TD1 for July 1, 2006.

Alberta Some provincial personal amounts for Alberta have been revised effective July 1, 2006.

It would be very useful if it worked correctly. I was doing some calculations yesterday for Ontario and I threw a spreadsheet together. My spreadsheet matches the tax tables:

doesn't. For example, if you take someone in Ontario, on the July 2006 tax table, with no deductions except the usual EI and CPP, 12 pay periods and claim code 1, and a pay of $1,250 a period (month). All the taxes listed are correct, except provincial, which reports $29.11. The correct amount would be $25.88. It appears that the website doesn't take into account the Ontario Tax Reduction which is outline in the tax tables.

A noble effort certainly. Though isn't the CRA adding something like this in 2007?
