Wow. Talk about sticker shock. $500 to upgrade my 2006 when I didn't pay that much for 2005 and 2006 combined?
Oh well, maybe I'll lock myself into my current version for a couple of years while I learn Quickbooks :-)

Are you using payroll or any other feature that requires you to upgrade? Many folks have stopped buying the payroll subscription and are doing the tables themselves. A lot cheaper that way.
