A couple of anomalies

I have found a couple of anomalies in a couple of our customers installations. One of them is quite fundamental and one of them is just strange. They are using Store Ops 1.3 Refresh.

  1. When performing a discount at the point of sale, they discount by a percentage which is 50%. This is fine with even numbers but what happens is, if the product is £59.99 it takes 50% off which is £29.995, and RMS rounds this up to £30. The problem is a trading standards issue. if he is heavily advertising a 50% off sale, he can get penalised for advertising a 50% off sale which isn't actually 50%. Is this hard coded or controlled somewhere? Has anyone else seen this and figured out a workaround?

  1. This is very strange indeed. The clock on the status bar at the top of the point of sale is reading a different time the system time. And not by a small amount, by a about 9 hours! The problem occurs on all 6 of his tills. Has anyone seen this and found a workaround?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Isn't that a pain in the rear? My workaround is to have a non-inventory item with a price of -$0.01, and I just add it to transactions as necessary. Boneheaded - no round-down feature..

1) not sure right off the top of my head - it seems like there is a solution, but I can't put my finger on it.

2) The time displayed by POS is the SERVER Time. It's coming from the system running the database, not the local system time on the register computer. The server probably came pre-installed with the Windows Time Zone set to the manufacturer's locale. For example, all Dell computers ship with their clocks set to Central Time...
