Custom "Item" Button at POS?

Hi All.. Does anyone know of a custom button that would allow say a "price check" by pushing this button and then scanning the product?

I have found that when you look up an item within POS your receive the everyday price and not the sale price of this item. Also, it is very difficult to find other information for these items with the current RMS item screen. Too much clicking tabs to find information useful to the customer. If a customer calls or comes to the register to ask what items are on sale there is no way to quickly acheive this. One would need to ask the customer which item(s) were they interested in and then we have to find this by looking up and tabbing over to find this information. I suppose we could just read off the printed ad we ran and this isn't an issue. But how about the incentive to purchase qty to receive a discount?? Having a custom button for check these type of information would be very helpful to increase sales.

I have seen kiosks in stores like Target and Toys R Us that allow the customer to scan an item and eceive this type of information.

Download our SWAT Search add-in at:

Install the program on your RMS POS lanes. Select SWAT Search button in POS screen. Scan an item to view current price (regular and sale price, if active). Enable the Sale Items Only and In Stock Only checkboxes to view all current sale items. Or select a filter box option to view by dept/category or supplier. Or locate items by price range. Example: All products around $50 or $200-$300. Also supports tag and sell for multiple items across multiple searches.

Hello Greg and Thanks for the reply!

I did download and test drive the SWAT Search program and think it's a great product. I asked my RMS Partner to look into it for me so I could add it in to our system(s) about a month or so ago and he said no problem. He has tried to get in touch with DRS several times, including one yesterday after I showed him this post and we can't get a response from the DRS sales department so we can order this software. This is why I was here hoping that I could find someone else that had something liike SWAT Search because I really wanted this very helpful product.

Our RMS Partner needed to talk with someone about the hook things we have with our other add ons to make sure that there wouldn't be any conficts, so I was unable to contact DRS directly myself as I have no idea what to ask about.

Would you mind providing me with a email, contact name and/or number that could help us get these questions anwsered and then order the software for all of our stores?

Please ignore my last post. Just spoke to our RMS Partner & he told me that he WAS contacted twice prior to my last post. I do think this is a wonderful program from the retailer stand point and am glad that we can now move forward.
