Customer Purchase Order Numbers on Invoices?

Our commercial customers require their purchase order number to appear on the invoices we generate. I do not see an area where this can be entered.

I have the same problem and while it isn't perfect, I use the F9 method. By pressing F9 while ringing up the sale, you can enter a Reference # and a comment for the transaction which will print on the invoice.

Here is the problem... there is no way to make PO# entry mandatory for specific customers so your employees must remember which customers to ask a PO# for, and this has been no end of problems for me. Also, this information is in no way referenced from the database so it is not possible to search transactions based on customer PO (reference #) and I don't think you can print this reference # on customer statements either.

Jesse - check the transaction table - it does store both the reference and comments you enter with shift f9 try.... select transactionnumber, referencenumber, comment from [transaction] where comment '' or select transactionnumber, referencenumber, comment from [transaction] where referencenumber ''

You can have the system prompt you with the shift f9 window on all transactions as a reminder to your staff that they need to check with the customer for a PO number; unfortunately, there is no "require details" selection so the shift f9 details window can be closed without entering any values (SO manager - file - configuration - options - POS options - check mark prompt for details on transactions)

Check customersource for a receipt template that > I have the same problem and while it isn't perfect, I use the F9 method. By

Is there some way I can have the system prompt for a PO# only for specific customers?

Most of my business is walk-in and does not require PO#s.

Jesse - the STATUS.HTM file currently (by default) will display captions assigned to a customer - the easiest / cheapest thing to do is to edit that caption and rename it "PO# Required?" - go to SO Manager - File - Configuration - Captions - Customer tab - set the first text caption to read PO# Required? - then in the customer properties go to the additional tab and set it to YES for all customers that must provide PO numbers - if you are using a different HTM file assign STATUS.HTM in SO Administrator - File- Configuratio - Register - Web Status

It'd be great if there were "customer messages" similar to the "item messages" feature, huh...?
